Track and Field Sending 11 to NCAA Preliminary Round|

CINCINNATI – Eleven University of Cincinnati track and field student-athletes will compete in the 2013 NCAA East Preliminary Round, hosted by North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, N.C., May 23-25.
The three days of competition take place at Irwin Belk Track inside of Aggie Stadium and qualifying teams and individuals advance to the 2013 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., on June 5-8, 2013.
Each event in the preliminary round has the top 48 competitors in the region and the top 12 from each event will advance to the Championships in Eugene, Ore. Four men and seven women from UC qualified for the East Prelims.
This year’s selections are highlighted by BIG EAST Conference Champions Josh Dangel (men’s pole vault), Mackenzie Fields (women’s pole vault), Emelie Larsson (women’s javelin throw) and Terrence Somerville (110-meter hurdles).
Senior Dailyn Moore joins Somerville in the 110-meter hurdles competition, while Alyssa McBride will compete with Fields in the women’s pole vault.
“They all have a chance to advance,” said men’s head coach Bill Schnier. “I am rooting for them all to make it to Eugene. They’re all very deserving.”

All meet tickets for the 2013 NCAA Division I Track and Field East Preliminary Round are now on sale. Tickets are required each day of competition and all seats are general admission. Will call orders may be picked up at the Sullivan Street ticket booths beginning on Thursday, May 23. Tickets can be purchased by calling the A&T ticket office at (336) 334-7749. There will be no online purchasing.
