CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
The University of Cincinnati cross country teams were among 50 schools and more than 700 student-athletes competing at the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championships Friday at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course at Cedarville University.
The men's team placed sixth out of 47 squads in the men's 59th annual 8,000 meter race, snapping a two-year streak of winning the overall team title.
The women's team was 17th out of 60 teams in the 33rd annual women's 6,000 meter race.
Evan Baum ran 25:19.59 to come home fifth, UC's top finisher on the day. Kevin Fink was 21st in 25:57.28.
Jacob Franklin was next across the line, finishing 51st in 26:33.19. Jeffrey Griffiths was on his heels in 55th, running 26:37.93.
Greg Sanders was next in, placing 78th in 26:57.87, followed by Eric Hauser (92/27:07.50) and Ian Silver (145/27:57.69).
Ashley Earman led the way for the women, running a time of 23:16.05 to finish in 25th.
Alex Mahle was next to cross the line, clocking 24:06.82 and placing 65th. Maggie Bischoff took 98th with a run of 24:49.31.
Sarah Pierce (25:28.38) was in 138th, Annette Brickman (25:51.37) came home 152nd and Anne Pace timed in at 26:07.97 which was good for 166th in the 283 runner field.
UC returns to action at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, taking part in the NCAA Pre-Nationals meet in Terre Haute, Ind.
