UC Baseball to Host Fourth Annual First Pitch Reception on Jan. 31|

CINCINNATI – In celebration to the start of the 2014 season, the University of Cincinnati baseball program will host its fourth annual First Pitch Reception on Friday, Jan. 31 at the Riverfront Club at Great American Ball Park. Reds Broadcaster Chris Welsh will be the special guest speaker at the event.
Attendees at the First Pitch Reception will get a preview of the 2014 baseball team, including a chance to meet and talk with first year head coach Ty Neal. UC director of athletics Whit Babcock will also be in attendance.
The event is scheduled from 6:30-8:30 with the program beginning at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $35 per person which includes heavy appetizers and drink tickets. Cash parking will be available in the Central Riverfront Garage.
A silent auction will be available for guests to bid on special experiences as well as UC and Reds memorabilia.
The First Pitch Reception is open to the public, but all reservations must be made by Monday, Jan. 27. The event has sold out the past two years and guests are encouraged to buy their tickets as soon as possible. The UC Baseball team has begun its preseason training for the 2014 season and will open the schedule with a three-game series against Elon University on Feb. 14 in Elon, N.C.
Neal will begin his tenure with the Bearcats after a successful 2013 campaign with Indiana University. Acting as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, Neal guided the Hoosiers to their first appearance in the College World Series before accepting his first head coaching position at Cincinnati.
