CINCINNATI – One week after being named the American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, redshirt sophomore Connor Walsh (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) was named to the league honor roll on Monday, May 5. Walsh led the Bearcats to a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Army on Saturday, May 3 en route to a series sweep over the Black Knights.
Walsh threw his third complete game of the season while only allowing five hits to a potent Army offense. The righty walked only one batter and struck out five to earn the win.
The Bearcats rallied for two runs in the top of the ninth inning to win the game 3-2. Cincinnati also won the first game 4-3 and the finale 15-3 to pick up its first road series sweep since 2011.
The Bearcats will be back in action on Wednesday, May 7 when they host the University of Toledo at 6:30 p.m. at Marge Schott Stadium.
