NFL rookie Kenbrell Thompkins had memorable week for the New England Patriots as he recorded his first two career touchdowns. His first touchdown was a 16-yard grab from Tom Brady and his second was a five-yard reception. Thompkins finished with three catches for 41 yards.
For the first time this season, Isaiah Pead was active for the St. Louis Rams. He had six carries for 20 yards, and he also had seven receptions on seven targets, which was a team high, for 43 yards.
Trent Cole recorded his first sack of the season in the Philadelphia Eagles’ Thursday Night Game. Fellow linebacker Connor Barwin had six tackles and a pass deflection. On the offensive side of the Eagles, Brent Celek grabbed two caches for 18 yards, while Jason Kelce started at center.
John Hughes also go this first sack of the year and recorded three tackles for the Cleveland Browns.
Cincinnati Bengals’ punter Kevin Huber had a 43.7 average with a long of 55 yards. He pinned one punt inside the 20-yard line.
Jeff Linkenbach garnered his first start of the season as he started at guard for the Indianapolis Colts. Defensive tackle Ricardo Mathews also saw action with the Colts, but did not record a tackle.
Defensive end Derek Wolfe started for the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football, but he did not record a tackle.
Mike Windt was active and played for the San Diego Chargers.
Additional Note: Former UC quarterback Zach Collaros was named the Canadian Football Player of the Week. Collaros plays for the Toronto Argonauts and completed 25-of-36 passes for 330 yards and a career-high four touchdowns.
