Men's Soccer Defeated at Rutgers, 1-0|

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team dropped its first American Athletic Conference road match of the season, 1-0, at Rutgers. The Bearcats fell to 3-7-1 on the year and 0-3 in league play, while the Scarlet Knights improved to 5-5-1 and 2-1 in conference action.
The sides played a scoreless first half with UC out-shooting Rutgers, 5-4. Each team put one of those attempts on net. The Scarlet Knights upped the pressure in the second half, taking 12 shots and putting three on net.
The difference maker came in the 64th minute when Mitchell Taintor settled a pass from Mael Corboz and beat UC keeper Alex Gill (Beavercreek, Ohio/Beavercreek) for the gamewinner.
David Greczek made four saves to record the win for Rutgers, while Gill made three saves in the effort for the Bearcats.
Alan Rovira (Simi Valley, Calif./Simi Valley/Tyler JC) posted two of UC's four shots on goal, while Brad Miguel (High Wycombe, England/Amersham & Wycombe College) and Calvin Opperman (Aukland, New Zealand/Saint Kentigern College) had the other two shots on net.
The Bearcats will look to rebound with another league match on Wednesday, Oct. 9, when they travel to USF. The final of a three-game homestand, the match is set for 7:30 p.m. in Tampa, Fla.
