CINCINNATI – Two players on the University of Cincinnati Men’s soccer team have been named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 100 Freshmen list.
Freshman Midfielder Jacob Martinez (Colorado Spring, Colo. /Liberty) and Defender Gabriel Robinson (Easton, Pa. /LaSalle) were the two players named on the list. Martinez is ranked No. 73 while Robinson is ranked No. 97.
Martinez has one goal on the year for the Bearcats in five games played. He scored the game winner against Gardner Webb on Sept. 16. Robinson has started 10 games at left back.
Cincinnati trailed only Rutgers out of all the BIG EAST members with two players in the Top 100. Rutgers had four.
The UC soccer team had four players on this list last year, which gives them a total of six in the last two seasons. The four freshman who made the list last year were Cole DeNormandie (Lincoln, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury Regional), Will Diebold (Coppell, Texas/Jesuit College Prep), Matt Remaley (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista), and Emmanuel Appiah (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville Central).
Five true freshmen and a first year transfer have seen time for the Bearcats. Three freshmen have made starts.
