CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team and head coach Jamelle Elliott have announced the signing of four student-athletes to the women's basketball program. Each has returned a National Letter of Intent, planning to continue their basketball career at UC starting in 2014-15 as true freshmen.
"We are very happy with the four student-athletes who have signed National Letters of Intent with UC women's basketball," noted Elliott. "I'm looking forward to these four ladies excelling not only on the court at Cincinnati but in the classroom as well."
Coach Elliott on Makenzie: Makenzie is an unbelievable three-point shooter. She has great footwork in her shot and has an extremely quick release. She comes from a successful high school team that made it to states last year.
Coach Elliott on Ashton: Ashton is a combination guard that has really strong ball-handling and passing skills. She also has a great deep three-point shot and will give us options from behind the arc. She is a scoring combination guard that we can play at the one or two spot that is offensive minded and has the ability to create her own shot.
Coach Elliott on Brianna: Brianna is a versatile floor player who can face up and play with her back to the basket. She also has the ability to knock down the 15-footer. Brianna is athletic and is really going to help us as a versatile post player inside.
Coach Elliott on Anastacia: Ana is a true point guard who has the ability to score. She has unbelievable floor vision and does a great job of getting the ball to the players around her exactly when they need it. I'm looking forward to her continuing to handle some of the point guard duties for our team in the future.
